About the Role
The Position
The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist is responsible for stewarding the mission, goals, and objectives of BPR, by supporting our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will possess strong attention to detail. This person will have a driven work ethic, the ability to create reports, deliver accurate and timely information, and the willingness to support the management and staff in a variety of projects. This is a night shift work from 7 pm to 5 am.
The responsibilities of the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist include but may not be limited to the following:
· Reconcile daily encounters and face sheets, per provider.
· Gather and sort patient and insurance payments, explanation of benefits (EOB), insurance correspondence, and returned patient statements.
· Upload all patient information into individual cloud storage sites for a billing company and practice access.
· Prepare and submit all information related to No-Fault and Worker’s Compensation, obtain authorizations for patient care. Prepare related documents for provider and patient signature.
· Gather, sort, prepare and process any payments for deposit into a practice bank account.
· Prepare and process any patient care-related payment refunds, as requested.
· Process medical record requests and bill third party, when applicable.
· Perform other billing documentation-related duties, as assigned.

This position will report directly to the Project Lead, working closely with the CEO (Chief Experience Officer). Success will be dependent on the ability to provide to the CLIENT and to the COMPANY the highest degree & standard of service performance. He/ She shall deliver all the requirements and expected outputs timely following the client, company, and professional standards.

Qualifications:
· Previous education/training in medical coding.
· Bachelor’s degree in a medical field preferred.
· Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.
· Strong knowledge of medical coding (e.g., ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPC) required.
· At least, three years of related experience in medical coding, claims resolution, and auditing, independent single-specialty medical practice setting, strongly preferred.
· Working knowledge of medical terminology of medical procedures, abbreviations, and terms, required.
· Knowledge of Federal Medicare guidelines, managed care programs, practices and regulations, and medical coding.
· Self-starter, with strong leadership potential.
· Excellent written and verbal English skills required, able to work at night.
· Remote work, a strong possibility.
